Uaru Cichlid   ( Uaru amphiacanthoides ) 

Grows to 10"

General:  A very pretty and interesting cichlid.  They are mild mannered, and similar in temperament to Severum Cichlids..  They can be kept in singles or groups and look good in planted aquariums.  They like warm water.  Temperature 78-84

Diet:  Like most cichlids they will accept a variety of foods such as Cichlid pellets, Cichlid flakes, frozen foods, krill.  Feed young fish 2-3 times daily.  Adults can be fed 1-2 times a day. 

Tank Mates:   Some good tank mates include severum cichlids,  sharsk,  giant danios, jurapari cichlids, kribensis cichlids and silver dollars.
