Giant Danio       Danio malabarteus

An active and very hardy fish that is best kept in groups. A peaceful fish that fits well in many community tanks.  A good choice for beginners.

Size:  Grows to 6" 

How Many?  Like other danios, they are best in groups of 6 or more.

Housing:  A large tank (30 gallon or more) with plenty of swimming room.  Temperature 72-82.

Tank Mates:  Mix with other active fish of similar size.  They fit is a wide variety of community tanks.   Good tankmates may include gouramis, other danios, swordtails, red tail shark, siliver dollars, small cichlids, and catfish.   Adults can be mixed in larger tanks with larger fish.

Feeding::  They will readily accept a variety of foods.  Feed flakes, small pellets such as Tetra Color Bits, brine shrimp, bloodworms.   Feed 2-3 times daily.

Natural Habitat:  Southeast Asia.   The fish we sell are domestically bred.
