Hobbyist Level:   An interesting bottom dweller.

How Many?  Can be kept as singles or in groups.

Housing:  (Temperature- 75-85),  (pH 6.5-8.0).   Provide some rocks and hiding spots.  They will disrupt and may eat live plants.

Tank mates:  They can not be trusted with any small or medium size fish.  Keep them by themselves or in large tanks with larger fish such as cichlids.

Feeding:  They eat standard foods including Tetra Bits, sinking pellets and flakes.

Natural Habitat:  North America.  Most sold are domestically farmed.
