AquaClear Powerheads
Powerheads are submersible water pumps. In freshwater aquariums they are used to quietly and effectively operate an undergravel filter. Each unit has an incremental flow control that adjusts output as desired and prevents accidental maladjustment during operation. The units can be positioned anywhere in the aquarium using either the provided rim attachment or the suction cup bracket when the Powerhead location is desired deeper in the aquarium.
Maximum flow rates vary between models, but all AquaClear Powerheads are small and compact. Each one incorporates a strong Venturi aeration system with control valve (this can silently replace a main function of the air pump) to create strong surface agitation for both efficient oxygenation and carbon dioxide dispersal. The powerful currents generated by any Powerhead mix the water throughout the aquarium. The horizontal exhaust provides a greater surface agitation while more efficiently creating water currents within the extra water volume.
