Average life span is 2 1/2 years.

How many gerbils should I buy?
You can put more than one gerbil together.  Two males will get along together as will two females.  Naturally, having a male and female together will result in many baby gerbils.

What is the gestation and number of young?
Gestation lasts about 24-30 days and they usually have 6 babies.

What do gerbils eat?
A seed mix food specifically for gerbils is the best choice.  Being desert animals, they drink little water.

Why do gerbils make great pets?
Gerbils are lively, social animals that are fun to watch and play with.  They require little space.
