Since 1969, Elmer’s Aquarium has had a commitment to our animals beyond when the fish leave our store. We provide continued support and education for our customers, from beginners to the aquarium hobbyist, to the most experienced saltwater hobbyist. By providing accurate knowledge and information, we hope to ensure the continued well-being of the fish we sell along with great customer satisfaction.
The aquarium experts on our team are here to answer questions on stocking, compatibility, long-term fish care, and guidance on equipment and fish care. We offer in store water testing to help diagnose problems within a fish tank to keep you on the path of success! If you are unable to stop in the store, we are also available to answer care questions over the phone, give us a call during business hours and we will be happy to help!
Healthy Fish Starts at the Source
Healthy fish start with the source! At Elmer’s Aquarium we have built strong relationships with each of our suppliers for over 55 years and we continue to see enhanced quality of the fish that we receive. Each week, our buying manager places orders from reputable Florida fish farms in the Tampa area which are then flown to us on a weekly basis, along with some local suppliers right here in Pennsylvania!

Fish Care in Our Store
Once the fish arrive from our suppliers, they are immediately acclimated to our system by our dedicated team that ensure each and every fish is happy in their temporary tanks before they find their forever home! Our team at Elmer’s Aquarium follows through daily on maintenance, regular water changes, and testing water chemistry. Fish that require special treatment when they arrive from their journey are isolated and treated until they are well again. Our professional staff performs multiple checks daily in our show-room, assessing the animals’ overall health and vigor. We do our utmost best to ensure fish that are ill do not leave our care.
Our in-store drip system uses multiple filtration zones and ultraviolet sterilizers to keep our water at its finest. Our fish receive fish high quality food such as TetraPro Crisps and frozen mysis shrimp.
